Discover the right floor
We bring samples into your home, where you can compare color, texture, and durability in the rooms you already know.

Hello, neighbor
Solid and engineered hardwood from Mirage, Lauzon, Mercier and more - installed by certified Metro Detroit craftsmen who treat your home like ours.
Metro Detroit has a real mix of housing stock - older homes with original oak hiding under carpet, and newer builds ready for their first hardwood floor. Renova Floors supplies and installs solid hardwood, engineered hardwood, and custom parquet from major manufacturers, and we [refinish the wood already in your home](/hardwood-refinishing) when that's the better move.
Because we buy directly from the mills, you get manufacturer pricing on the same floors the big-box stores sell at retail markup. Our crew handles every step: removal, subfloor leveling, installation, staining, and finishing - or see our [engineered hardwood](/engineered-hardwood) page if your rooms sit over a basement or concrete.

Both are real wood. The difference is how the board is built - and which one you should pick depends on your subfloor and your climate.

*Subject to credit approval. Minimum monthly payments required. See design consultant for details.
View financing detailsRed and white oak account for about 70% of our installations - they're durable, take stain beautifully, and age gracefully. Maple offers a cleaner, more uniform grain. Hickory is the hardest domestic wood and great for active households. Walnut and cherry bring richer, darker tones for more formal rooms.
Stain options range from natural blonde and whitewashed to grey, fumed, and dark espresso. We bring sample boards to your home so you can see the actual stain on the actual wood in your actual light - not a print in a catalog.

We install nail-down, glue-down, and floating hardwood depending on what your subfloor allows. Every job includes moisture testing, subfloor leveling, baseboard removal and reinstall, and full disposal of old flooring. For existing hardwood that just needs new life, our [refinishing](/hardwood-refinishing) crew offers dustless sanding, custom staining, and water-based polyurethane finishes that cure in days, not weeks. Pricing below includes hardwood, underlayment, professional installation, and removal of your existing floor.
| Option | Typical price | Notes |

| Mid-range engineered hardwood | $7.49 - $9.99 / sq ft | Most popular for whole homes |
| Solid red or white oak | $8.99 - $11.99 / sq ft | Refinishable for decades |
| Premium / wide plank engineered | $10.99 - $14.99 / sq ft | European oak, designer brands |
| Hickory, walnut, exotic species | $11.99 - $17.99 / sq ft | High-end residential |
Removal of existing flooring, moisture testing, and baseboard reinstall included in every quote.
Most whole-home installs take 2 to 4 days. Refinishing existing hardwood adds another 3 to 5 days for sanding, staining, and finishing.
Engineered hardwood works beautifully in kitchens and below-grade basements - the plywood core stays stable when humidity shifts. We don't recommend solid hardwood in either location.
A quality solid hardwood floor can last 80-100 years and be refinished 5-7 times along the way. Engineered hardwood lasts 30-50 years and can typically be refinished 1-2 times.
We bring sample boards in your wood species and color so we can match within a shade or two. If you want a perfect blend, we can refinish your existing hardwood at the same time so the whole floor reads as one.
